About Mark Phillips
Mark is a senior hand surgeon with a particular interest in trauma to the hand & wrist. He was an NHS Consultant at King’s College Hospital from 2003-2015 where he was Ortho-Plastics lead, Governance lead for Major Trauma, and had a research interest in fracture healing. He now consults in HCA, BMI and LycaHealth clinics across London and has HCA and BMI admission rights for surgery in London Bridge, Chelsea, Hendon, Beckenham and Blackheath.
Trained in Cambridge University and King’s College Hospital, he then did trauma and hand fellowships in the University of Pisa and the Plastic Surgery department of Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead respectively. He initially took a Consultant post in Greenwich in 2001 before moving to King’s.
He has a relatively low ‘conversion rate’ to surgery: that is to say, only about 20% of new referrals undergo surgery ... (Click here to read more ...)
